The Batam Center area is on the north side of Batam, and is easily accessed from other parts of Batam or from Singapore, as ferries from the Harborfront Center Ferry Terminal travel direct to the Batam Center Ferry Terminal

Batam Center restaurants are located either within some of the large shopping malls, such as Mega Mall or in some of the shop houses within the Batam Center area.

The restaurants can be easily reached by taxis, which are available at the ferry terminal and on the roads around Batam Center.

Although this restaurant is owned by Yong Kee, everyone knows it as Rumah Makan Istimewa so be sure to say this to the driver. Within Nagoya City Center, this restaurant is located beside a local telephone shop. Perhaps it's useful for you to know that this restaurant also comes along with a money changer. This restaurant has also recently opened branches in Batam Center and Panbil Mall. This restaurant is best for its seafood soups. Though the soup looks clear, it is so rich in flavour it is a taste to remember! This costs about 15,000 rupiahs a bowl. This translates to about US$1.50.

- Has a wide variety of Indonesian & Chinese dishes, with seafood very popular (not a live seafood restaurant). Has a ground floor section with a more up-market restaurant upstairs, can be quite busy during lunch time.

- Has live seafood and serves both Indonesian and Asian dishes, a very good restaurant. Has plenty of seating and is nicely decorated

- Built out over the water, this is a live seafood restaurant, with a good variety of seafood on offer. It is one of Batam’s most popular seafood eating places, it has plenty of seating available
- Although it is not actually at Batam Center, it is approx half way between Nagoya & Batam Center (at Bengkong), by the sea.

- Kentucky Fried Chicken is another well known favorite; their chicken has a nice spicy flavor to it. The KFC restaurant has dining areas, take-away meals & they can deliver to offices / businesses or houses
